Puerto Quito is one of those "off-the-beaten-track" jewels, about 4 hours travelling from Quito.
As a student at Ecole Idiomas you can opt to study one week in this beautiful surroundings, where you will not only learn Spanish 4 hours a day, but your meals, accommodation at a local finca and excursions are also included. You will follow the same class material as in Quito, so students can also opt to inter-exchange one of their weeks in Quito for a week in Puerto Quito.
Your week starts by travelling to Puerto Quito on Sunday afternoon, where you will be awaited for by our program coordinator, who will take you to the local Finca where you will stay this week. At this small farm, they grow all kinds of crops, such as banana, cacoa, coffee, medicinal herbs, papaya and more. There is a guesthouse where students stay, a family house and kitchen combined with a common area where the Spanish lessons are also given. You will have 20 hours of classes this week, either 4 hours in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on the weather. The other half of the day is dedicated to activities and excursions: a hike to the waterfall, a visit to a local hacienda, making chocolate from scratch, making artesanias, visit the river, and tubing or rafting (additional cost)
And if you fall in love with Puero Quito, stay a while longer and do volunteer work with one of the local fincas!
