Nowadays studying Spanish is both a trend and a necessity. The Spanish language has become one of the largest in the world, as more than 21 countries have it as official language, more than 250 million people speak it as a second language, and it is the second most studied language around the world. Ecuador is a perfect country to learn the language: the accent is understood everywhere and people speak very clearly and without a lot of slang. Besides this advantage, it is a beautiful country that is easy to travel and where one can also contribute much as a volunteer.
Our Methods:
ECOLE IDIOMAS implements the “cognitive method” which, in few words, consists in creating bridges between words/structures and previous knowledge.
Our classes are highly focused in the development of communication skills (Speaking, Listening, Writing and Reading). We have created our own learning materials as audio-video exercises, workbooks, grammar book, and much more which are provided by ECOLE IDIOMAS for all our students as a part of their program of classes.
All teachers in ECOLE IDIOMAS have taught Spanish for at least 8 years now. All materials (Grammar books, workbooks, audiovisual exercises, etc) have been developed by our teachers and their large expertise. ECOLE IDIOMAS has all legal certifications required by the Ecuadorian and the National Ministry of Education Laws. ECOLE IDIOMAS has received several Qualify Certifications because of its high standards of work.
We offer both group lessons (no more than six students each) and private one to one lessons.Generally our students need 4 weeks (4 hours of daily instruction) to complete our intensive program.However, individual progress also depends on initial level of fluency, personal skills and dedication.
To be or not to be in a group:
Group lessons have several advantages:
- There are a lot of learning resources only possible when you are a part of a group (role activities, games, etc.) - You can learn a lot from other’s mistakes.
- Students usually feel more confident and motivated when they are a part of a group.
- Students make friends; enjoy activities and excursions together, etc.
- Classes have fixed structures; which is, in most of the cases, better for the learning process.
On the other hand, private lessons have also some advantages:
- Classes are totally flexible: it is possible to have from 2 hours a week to 30.
- The speed of the lessons and the subjects studied depend on the student’s needs and requirements.
In general, we suggest you to have group lessons if your knowledge of Spanish language is basic to intermediate. If your level is high, we would suggest you to choose private lessons.
Group lessons: Classes 20 hours a week, 4 hours a day with a maximum of 6 students per group, starting every Monday
Private lessons: Classes from 2 to 30 hours a week, upon student’s request 2 students in semiprivate lessons and starting every day
Where to study?
Most students start at our School in Quito, where they stay between one and 4 weeks to learn and improve their Spanish, while enjoying the central location of the city to make weekend tours to Baños, Otavalo, Mindo and other places.
